No. 74: Indigo Bunting on Sumac Watercolor

The aptly named indigo bunting is quite tiny so it finds plenty to eat in the clusters, called "drupes", of the sumac, a wild shrub.  The sumac's bright red leaves are a common sight along Missouri roads in the fall.  This original watercolor measures 9" x 12" surrounded by an 11" x 14" pale yellow matboard.  This painting has been sold.
